A Thought About God’s Sovereignty

Here’s your weekly word of biblical encouragement from Bibles.net! Enjoy this short video devotional or read its contents below, adapted from a message by Pastor Britt Merrick.

The video above will ask helpful questions to lead you to hope in God’s goodness, even in suffering.

And what if within the bounds of God’s complete control—we can call it his sovereignty or his dominion—what if within the bounds of God’s sovereignty—his complete control—he does things because of his great love for us that do not make sense to us, nor could we ever understand?

What if, within his sovereignty because of his great love, God does things for our good that we simply cannot understand the logic of?

What if we were to find like the disciples would find that Jesus leads us into storms (Matthew 8:23-27) not to sink our ships but to settle our souls?

What if Jesus, in leading them into the storm, is leading them into something good, and that’s why he wondered why they were so afraid (Matthew 8:26)?
