Evidence of a Heart Transformed by Grace

Here’s your weekly word of biblical encouragement from Bibles.net! Enjoy this short video devotional or read its contents below, adapted from a message by Pastor Britt Merrick.

The video above will remind you that in Christ, you have the power to love others today.

And we realize that love is both a noun and a verb. Love is a noun—it’s a feeling.

But love is also a verb—it’s an action.

And for you, Christian, the Holy Spirit has ordained and enabled you to experience and give love as both a noun and a verb.

The Holy Spirit is causing you to feel differently about people, and to do better toward people.

You see, once we’ve lost ourselves in the love of God in Christ and found all that we need in him, we are both free and enabled to love others. And we realize that serving one another in love is the clearest and purest evidence of a heart that has truly been set free by grace (Galatians 5:13-15).

What Is Grace?

Grace is kindness from God that we don’t deserve. It comes in a few forms. Saving grace is the undeserved favor to stand in God’s presence no longer considered guilty. Sustaining grace is the undeserved strength to get back up when you fall weary or defeated. Sanctifying grace is the undeserved power to defeat your sin.
