God’s Judgments Are Right

Here’s your weekly word of biblical encouragement from Bibles.net! Enjoy this short video devotional or read its contents below, adapted from a message by Pastor Britt Merrick.

The video above will motivate you to pay careful attention to Scripture, because you can trust its author.

Verse two: It says, “Because his judgments are true and righteous” (Revelation 2:19 NASB). God’s judgments are true and righteous. That’s what the book of Revelation is showing us. It’s unmasking, it’s unveiling some of the evil and some of the evil purposes in the world and showing us that when God judges he is always right.

God does what is right. When God judges, it’s according to truth. He doesn’t go against reality—there’s no spin on it. There’s no political agenda. There’s no, “Well, maybe that’s right for you. Maybe that’s right for some people.” God is right in his judgments. His judgments always show us what is and what ought to be.

That’s why, dear brothers and sisters, whom I love, we pay careful attention to God’s Word. All of his declarations are true and just and righteous. They show us what truly is and what ought to be. And as we’ve said a million times in our study of the book of Revelation, we live in an age of deception where we really need to give ourselves to carefully discerning what is and what ought to be, and we do that through the Word of God.

What Is God Like?

A.W. Tozer said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” God has given us a whole book of true ideas about himself—the Bible—that we might put them into our minds and let them shape an accurate vision of him. God has many attributes. He described his character in two ways: through attributes exclusive to God, and attributes can share with him.
