What Is God’s Will for My Life?

Here’s your weekly word of biblical encouragement from Bibles.net! Enjoy this short video devotional or read its contents below, adapted from a message by Pastor Britt Merrick.

The video above will make it very clear how to live out God’s will for your life today!

“And we often, in the difficult times of life, want to know what God’s will is, don’t we? I’ve asked that question so many times in the last few months.

The Bible is explicit. First Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 18, “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

That makes it easy!

God, what’s your will in this situation? Well let’s start right here, give thanks.

Not because of the situation—the situation stinks—but because of who God is and how he’s immeasurably bigger than the situation.

Ephesians says a similar thing in chapter 5, it says that we should be speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with our hearts to the Lord always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20).

Always giving thanks for all things.

God’s will for you? Give thanks!

Are there uncertainties in your life? Difficulties? Financial ruin? Sickness? Give thanks!

Colossians 3:17 makes it real clear, “And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

This is God’s will for us. That we would give thanks.”
