When You Have Been Deserted

Here’s your weekly word of biblical encouragement from Bibles.net! Enjoy this short video devotional or read its contents below, adapted from a message by Pastor Britt Merrick.

The video above will speak a word of comfort to anyone who knows what it is to feel abandoned or deserted.

“In this lifetime we are going to experience betrayal and desertion and abandonment. As Christians we are called to forgive and so experience freedom and healing.

But we also have to know that Jesus is the only one who ever promised to be with us forever, and he’ll never leave us or forsake us.

Paul testifies at the end of his life, “Dude, everyone left me, but not Jesus. Jesus was right there with me. And Jesus delivered me” (2 Timothy 4:16-17, paraphrased).

And Jesus is here with you today, Christian. He’s present in your deepest places of pain, in your greatest disappointments, he’s present in those places.

And he wants to free us today from the ungodly, un-Christian practice of unforgiveness, grudges, and bitterness.

Do business with Jesus today.”
