“The heavens declare the glory of God;

night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech,

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God
I was running around a local park. I stopped and stood on a little bridge overlooking the lake. The beauty surrounding me deserved a deep breath.
All felt still. Yet as I watched, the trees and water and birds and sky were all in motion. Moving, but unhurried, they danced to a slow unheard tune. A leaf glided into the still lake, and it embraced the leaf with rippling sigh.
The wind felt like love itself had come to wrap its arms around me. The wind was not hot, not sharp, but gentle and strong, cold enough to make itself known, as if to say, “I’m here.”
As I enjoyed the stillness, the sky darkened, and I knew it was time for me to run home. I smiled as the sunset burst into pink before dusk blew it away, like a kiss goodbye.
As I ran, the sunset fled. I wished it would come back and found it ironic that I was physically striving after it.
As I ran, the moon appeared even before the daylight left. So strange that one beauty would replace another—a beauty so different in kind. Yet, sun, moon, and stars, though all different, are similar somehow. They’re all forms of light.
Take a Look Outside
When was the last time you stopped to look around?
The world is a masterpiece, isn’t it? The real world we see, touch, smell, and feel was someone’s idea. The God of the Bible is the God of our world. He is “the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 146:6 NIV).
Though God is unseen, he is not absent from his world. In fact, there’s no place on earth where we can escape his presence (Psalm 139:7-10).
The Bible says we know something of God by what he’s made. Psalm 19:1-4 captures this beautifully
Whether you believe in the Bible or not, whether you know God personally or not, here’s a simple challenge: today, take a moment to be outside
Take a good look at creation and ask yourself: What kind of person could have made this?
Take a Look in Your Bible
Then, take a step further. Ask the Maker to make himself known to you
God is speaking right now most powerfully not in nature, but in Scripture. So, after taking a look outside, will you open up your Bible, and ask God to reveal himself to you there
We pray that if you do, he will wow you with his glory—the kind of glory that our hearts can perceive and that’s greater than any glory in creation we can see
